Purplenova paid versions allow you to map a domain name / subdomain name to your PC running Purplenova, so that the published content is accessible with your domain name.

You can designate a home page from among the shared files, and this is the page that will be displayed when anyone enters your domain name in a browser.

Unlike solutions based on Dyn DNS, domain names work instantly, no matter what sort of IP address you have - dynamic, private / internal, etc.

Purplenova is a zero-configuration system. You do not have to worry about your network configuration or setup.

Your main domain www.yourdomain.com can continue to point to your datacentre, and you can have subdomains pointing to your computers running Purplenova. For example, have "home.yourdomain.com" point to your home computer, and a laptop.yourdomain.com point to your laptop.
